Autum Tag - ArJo Challenge

Hey, folks! Here's a quick post to show you the autumn tag I've made for a Facebook challenge group called ArJo's Tag og ATC kos. The somewhat funny name (if you're not Norwegian) is because it used to be an all Norwegian group, but they have opened it for anyone worldwide. You can write in English or any of the Scandinavian languages, so it's a fun mix - but the photos we share there speak for themselves :-)

Anyway - this month's challenge was to make one tag or a series of three ATC's with autum colours, using stamped images, two or more media, paint, mist or ink, washitape and a word or handwritten text. So - here's mine:

 

I think I've used washi tape only once before in my life, and I could only find one in my stash ... but it's there! The gold embossed leaf stamps are from Rubber Dance, the deer stencil from Panduro, leaf dies from Tim Holtz/Sizzix, and the little elk/moose wood figurine is from Nille. 

An autumn tag needs some bling! Gemstones, Stickles, bronze bling ribbon:

CASology Challenge, Week #216: FRAME

I was worried that I would miss the CASology challenge this week, as I've been away on autumn holiday on the west coast of Norway. But I'm back, so here we go!

 

I stamped a large maple leaf (Rubber Dance) on watercolour paper, using Distress inks and a mist of water.  I added more yellow ink here and there with a waterbrush, and yellow Distress Spray Stain for a few splashes. I cut part of the leaf our with a frame die, adhered the base and oval to a green card, and popped the frame up with foam tape on the back. The sentiment (Rubber Dance) was stamped with green ink that matched that of the leaf.

Colourful Seahorse Card

Hi, everyone! I wanted to make a card today, but my muse was sound asleep and I didn't know what to make ... So, I checked out the Paper Playful list of challenges to see if any there would inspire me.

I found two challenges that I liked. The first was a sketch from Mojo Monday - so that one gave me my layout, and then I found theme: Critters & Creatures Link Party.  I chose this adorble sea creature for my card:

 

I stamped the seahorse with black ink and coloured it in with Inketense and a waterbrush. 

Gemstones on the left side, green and blue glitter glue on the scalloped circle.

The seahorse stamp is from Stamp Oasis and I've had it for many years, but it's been a long time since I used it. I used to collect seahorse stamps, and this one is one of my faves. The text is a stamp from Rubber Dance. It's a one line stamp, but I cut it apart so I could center it inside the circle.

CASology Challenge, Week #215: BARK

When I saw that this week's cue word at CASology was 'bark', I thought of a stamp that I knew I had somewhere with a heart carved into its bark.  Lo and behold - I found it! The 'grow' stamp is from the same set. 

The card above is my second attempt, after I had made and changed my mind about this one:

I didn't like all the autumn colours in the foliage,
as I think the colours stole the attention from the heart in the bark.

I cannot remember where the stamps are from. Please let me know if you do.

CASology Challenge, Week #214: BEACH - 2nd entry

Hello there! Welcome to my brand new blog! I've been joining the CASology challenge several times since June, but this is the first time I enter from my own, personal blog. My previous entries have been on my stamp company's blog, using nothing but stamps from that line. Which is fine, but I have been a stamper for decades and have a huge collection of stamps from other companies, and it's a pity that I never use them anymore! So, here we go ... my very own blog, where I can do whatever I want to ;-)

OK, long intro there - here's my 2nd entry for this week's cue word at CASology, BEACH:

I stamped the grassy sand dune (Cherry Pie) on watercolour paper and coloured it in with a waterbrush, using two hues of yellow ink for the sand and two greens for the grass. The shells and sentiment (Rubber Dance) were stamped with brown and yellow ink and adhered to the card with foam tape to pop them up a bit. I added a bit of blue ink to the sky for balance.

Less is More - CAS Cards

When I had the opportunity to sponsor the CASology Challenge Blog this summer, I got bitten by the CAS bug! In case you are unfamiliar with the term CAS, it means Clean And Simple. This is quite different from my usual style, which has been rather "more is more", with colourful backgrounds and several stamped images. I do love a good challenge, though, but little did I know that making CAS cards would be so addictive!

The lovely group of poeple behind the CASology Challenge always leave such sweet and encouraging comments, and not just from one of the teamies! I really appreciate that they take the time to visit all the entries and leave us some lovin'.  I suspect that this is one of the reasons I've become so fond of that place ;)

They give us a new cue word every Tuesday. I've actually set my alarm to go off when a new cue word is revealed - at 15:00 hours my local time. I haven't joined every weekly challenge since my first one in June, it depends on my workload and "life happens". A couple of weeks I have entered more than once.
